The Congress Centre building, with an estimated area of 200x40m and an auditorium for approximately 2,000 people, has a significant area of the upper levels without contact with the ground obliged several walls of the upper floors to function in cantilever, with some of these being pre-stressed.
This type of structure, with a meticulous and careful study of its constructive phase and final configuration, has at the floor level and by its elevated span dimension, solutions of mixed concrete and steel slabs, supported by metallic beams that were harmoniously integrated in the architecture of the building.
The Hotel, with slightly smaller dimensions, has an equally very complex structure, that made the innovating architecture feasible, with one of the wings supported on a unique pillar at the same levels as the ground floor; all the upper floors have a conjunctive functioning (concrete slabs and walls), assuring this box a transfer of effort to the more rigid zones, with supports.
