The solution presented to the “Auditorium of the City of Padua" assumes the triangular area of the lot, occupying four levels, three above ground and one buried. The volume was defined as a kind of prism, which offers different relations with the outside.
The internal organization found for the building has two objectives: the quality of space and flexibility of their use. The succession and articulation of three-dimensional rooms and pathways include an ongoing relationship with the outside framing.
Another important factor in the design was the interconnection between the Auditorium and the existing building patrimonial high-value, turned up to Via Triete and Via Gaspare Gozzi. The solution found was to preserve the façade and the roof geometry, adapting the interior to a new spatial system, articulated with the new building.
The new building provides three spectacle areas: the Big and Small auditoriums, for 1400 and 440 people respectively, and an open space. The common denominator of the project was the "versatility", creating a multipurpose space with perfect performances for each skill.
The arrangement of space and equipments in the project of the "Auditorium of the City of Padua" responds to a philosophy, in which, the ultimate goal is to ensure the efficient management of space and human, and the technician resources.
