The expansion of the Air side of the airport of 20.620m2 to 61.092m2, with the objective of preparing the airport for 16 million passengers, requires the enlargement of the existing trade zone, object of this competition.
The design solution presented started from a strategy which foreseen the definition of a unitary and overall concept for the entire commercial area, existing and of expansion. Considering, this way, the definition of a unifying idea a priority, supported by a layout and a commercial mix, that from the beginning, orientated the time schedule of the work and the various parcelling interventions to a coherent final solution, integrated and functionally adequate.
One of the objectives was to obtain a friendly environmentally solution. So as a solution for lighting it was proposed an attachment of a multicolour panel of LED's to each element of the false ceiling, thereby transforming it into a light spreader, reducing the hours of energy consumption and maintenance. The use of this technology allows the regulation of intensity and colour on each panel and its programming, achieving dynamic effects and a vast spectrum of environments. This way, it was given the space an “effective and environmentally friendly” lightning.
With the presented solutions it was planned to conceive technical installations with ecological and economic point of view of construction and maintenance.
