This housing complex, located on an island in the River Seine, in Paris, is composed of three towers with 9 floors and 20.500m² of area above the ground, with 2 floors of common basement and parking buried with about 12.000m².
It was proposed for the buildings, with fully reinforced concrete structure, a very unique architectural solution of the façade, with elegant and very little spaced pillars, which in the Floor 0 transfer through a slab designed for this purpose, the charges for a regular mesh of pillars with large dimensions integrated in the parking layout.
An essential presupposed of the proposed solution was its efficiency and environmental sustainability, whether by conceptual option, either by natural imposition given its implantation in a particularly sensitive area.
Therefore the treatment and recycling of rainwater was foreseen, such as the use of materials as green as possible, the use of solar panels for water heating , the potential for natural ventilation, heating and passive cooling, etc.
Another fundamental aspect taken into account, given the implantation of Building was the existence of high groundwater levels and land probably permeable, so the structural elements and construction methods were taken into consideration to ensure the tightness of the building – peripheral walls built previously to the excavation and use of solid slabs with these walls, and a double slab inside executed on a draining membrane that gathers any water that crosses the foundations.
