The Museum building in question was the center of the equipments that constituted the solution proposed by the Architect Aires Mateus for the “Sanfermines” Centre in Pamplona.
The entry proposed a series of individual and physically separate spaces rising from a low level "podium".
The project was to be built near the river that is vulnerable to flooding. Due to this important fact, all underground spaces were designed as waterproof structures, thus containing the possible flood situation.
Also part of this same competition was the construction of an Underground Parking Space with approximately 5,000sqm, which would be linked to the Museum and a number of accesses to the Historical Centre of Pamplona. Specifically a footbridge, a Gallery, an access tunnel to the terrace and a second Parking Space in the Historical Centre.
