Aguieira Urban Park
Global - Arquitectura Paisagista, Lda
The urban park at Aguieira in Viseu (Parque da Aguieira), designed by landscape architect João Gomes da Silva, will be an important green space in the city which will also provide a new leisure area.
The architect sees the logic of the design as one of “transformation rather than replacement”. In this spirit, the infrastructure projects are designed to keep earth moving and excavation to the minimum.
Water will be supplied from the circular to the Aguieira Park. This net is part of the urban plan PP1 of Viseu. This cast iron system will feed the new park by high density polyethylene branches.
The new buildings in the park will be connected to new sewers which will also be connected to systems installed as part of the plan PP1.
The new surface water drainage is designed to protect the landscape and the pathways and, where possible, will be allowed to disperse into the ground by infiltration.
