The solution presented by Carris envisages the creation of a new Glória Funicular installation, designed to meet the highest standards of safety, accessibility and passenger comfort, while preserving the historical and cultural identity of Calçada da Glória.

The international public tender is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, with the inauguration expected in 2029.

The project will include not only the new transport system but also the redevelopment of the surrounding public space, contributing to the enhancement of one of Lisbon's most iconic urban connections.
