This open air sports complex built in Rio Maior has competition pools for speed and diving. Both are built with Olympic competition standards. The speed pool is standard with 50m length with 10 lanes and the diving pool has boards at 5m and 10m height.

All the structures are of reinforced concrete, designed to be water tight as required. Alongside the pools are underground technical galleries that house, and give access to, the pipe work and auxiliary equipment.
